Wakefield Wildcats have signed Stuart Howarth from Hull FC on an 18 month deal.
The 25 year-old has struggled to make an impact at the KC Stadium this season, making just six appearances for the Black and Whites since joining them at the start of the season.
The hooker made his debut for the Wildcats in 2011 and went on to make 19 Super League appearances for them before joining Salford before moving to Hull.
“I am happy to be back at Wakefield,” Howarth to the Wildcats club website. “I was here in 2011 and when I found that there was an opportunity to come back to the club, I jumped at it.”
“I was offered a lot more game time here and I want to play rugby. So it was the right decision for me to make.”
Wildcats’ chairman Michael Carter believes that Howarth’s versatility is a huge boost for Super League’s bottom side; “He can cover a variety positions and will be a valuable member for the remainder of this season and next season.”
Howarth goes straight into the Wakefield squad that will face Leeds Rhinos on Sunday.
