Leigh Centurions have signed Mathias Pala from Catalan Dragons with immediate effect.
The French international joins the Championship leaders on a deal until the end of next season.
“I’m really happy to have this opportunity to join Leigh,” Mathias said.
“When you are a professional player, you want to play every weekend and that’s why I decide to move.”
Pala, who can play as a centre or winger, made his Dragons debut in 2011 and but has only gone on to make 33 appearances for the French club, scoring four tries.
Leigh’s head coach Paul Rowley said; “It’s good to have Mathias join us as we approach the business end of the season. He’s been on our radar for a while.”
Laurent Frayssinous, Catalan head coach, said he was pleased the former St Esteves and Balmain Tigers player would be getting regular first-team action; “I’m delighted that Mathias had this opportunity to join Leigh and play week-in, week-out. We respect his decision.”
