Salford offering free admission for Dragons game

Fans will be able to attend Salford Red Devils’ Super League Round 20 home game against Catalan Dragons for free.

The match takes place on Sunday 5th July at 3pm.

Dr Marwan Koukash, the Red Devils’ owner, tweeted: “For our next home game against Catalan, admission prices are reduced to nothing ( free). No I am not drinking , I just want to promote RL.”

In Super League XX, attendances at the AJ Bell have fallen below the 3,000 mark on three occasions – against Wakefield, Huddersfield and Castleford.

Back in April, Salford defeated Wigan in front 6,561 spectators – their largest home crowd of the season so far.

Koukash is hoping to fill the 12,000 capacity stadium for the visit of the Dragons next month.

“Looking forward to a full house for our game against Catalan,” he tweeted. “And yes , we do not need any income from the game , just more RL fans.”

A crowd of 6,000 turned out to see the Red Devils beat Catalan 34-22 on the 15th August 2014 in last season’s fixture between the two sides at the AJ Bell Stadium.
