Jason Baitieri has signed a new two-year deal to stay at Catalans Dragons.
26 year-old Baitieri, who has made 17 Super League appearances for the Dragons this season, has scored 12 tries for the club since joining them from Sydney Roosters four years ago.
Head coach Laurent Frayssinous said of the back rower’s new deal: “I am very satisfied by Jason’s contract renewal.
“He was very unlucky with his knee injury in 2013 but he has worked hard to get back to his best.
“He is a very consistent player and I am counting on him in the coming years to transmit his experience to the young French players. He’s the kind of player that every coach is looking for.”
Meanwhile, winger Damien Cardace has been released from his contract with the Dragons and will rejoin French Championship side Lezignan.
Cardace follows Gadwin Springer and Matthias Pala through the exit door at Stade Gilbert Brutus in the last few weeks.
