Wakefield have confirmed the signing of winger Bill Tupou for the 2016 season.
The 25 year-old former Canberra Raider moved to Belle Vue on a short-term deal towards the end of last season, and made nine appearances as the Wildcats retained their Super League status.
Tupou becomes head coach Brian Smith’s fifth recruit for the coming season, following former Castleford duo Ashley Gibson and Liam Finn, the re-signing of Ben Shulver after a spell Down Under and Sean Morris, who joins from London Broncos.
Tupou told the club’s website: “I’m very happy to have signed for a year here at Wakefield, it is a great time to be at the club. It is fascinating to be working under Brian Smith, I learnt so much from him in the short space of time last season and I am looking forward to continue this learning process in 2016.”
Smith added: “Bill Tupou settled quickly into our team mid-season, largely based on his powerhouse running of the ball. With more time together with his teammates in preparation, we are likely to have an even bigger and stronger series of performances from Bill.”
