Castleford’s Mike McMeeken has signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of 2018.
The 21 year-old joined the Tigers from London Broncos at the end of 2014 and the second-rower made 20 appearances for Cas in his debut season.
McMeeken, whose previous deal had been due to expire at the end of 2016, said via the club’s website: “I’m delighted to have signed a new deal at this great club. I’m really looking forward to the new season and playing in front of our awesome fans and pushing for silverware.”
The Basingstoke-born player added: “I’m loving every minute here at Cas, this place is my home.”
Head coach Daryl Powell said: “Mike proved last year that he is a player with huge potential. His professionalism is outstanding as are the qualities in his game, that we feel will take him to the top of his profession. I am delighted he has agreed to extend his contract for two further years to continue his growth as a player.”
