Former Leeds Rhino Lee Smith has been handed a two month trial by Hull FC.
Smith, 29, spent the end of last season with Wakefield Wildcats but turned down a deal to stay at Belle Vue beyond 2015.
Motu Tony, Hull FC’s General manager said of Smith to Hull Daily Mail: “He’s got some ability, but we are just trying him out and having a look.
“Lee covers every position in the backs apart from half-back and that is the attraction for us, but there’s been no talk of contracts and it may not come to anything.”
Smith spent the first seven years of his career with the Rhinos, winning five Super League Grand Finals and three World Club Challenges. Smith also won the Harry Sunderland Trophy in the 2008 Grand Final.
The Morley-born star then left Leeds for the Wildcats and also had two short spells in rugby union; with London Wasps and Newcastle Falcons.
