Jordan Tansey has joined Huddersfield Giants on a month-long loan from Super League rivals Wakefield Wildcats.
The Giants have been hit with several injuries this season and the former Leeds utility back could feature for them against Hull KR this Sunday.
Full back Scott Grix could be out until July; while Craig Huby, Jared Simpson are also currently out injured.
Luke Robinson was forced to retire from playing because a hip injury last month and Kyle Wood, Joe Wardle and Eorl Crabtree have all spent time on the sidelines this season.
Head coach Paul Anderson revealed that Wakefield man Tansey, who has been playing for the Wildcats’ reserve team this season, will most likely fill in for Grix:
“We’ve brought him in here with a view to playing him at full-back, which would then enable us to start to play the rest of the side in their more accustomed position. For instance, Aaron Murphy back to wing or centre,” Anderson told the Huddersfield Examiner.
“Jordan has a wealth of experience behind him, and is just the sort of cover we need right now,” he added.
Tansey made eight appearances for Wakefield after joining them from Castleford last season.
