Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane has praised his side’s ‘winning mentality’ after their 100% start to the Super League season.
Friday night’s narrow victory away at Hull FC was the Warriors fourth win from as many games in the league, putting them joint top of the table with Widnes Vikings and Warrington Wolves.
“To go four from four, not playing well and not having the players together that much shows that the team have a good winning mentality,” Wane told the Warriors’ official website.
Wigan’s 26-25 win at the KC Stadium came on the back of hard-fought wins over Salford (20-16), Huddersfield (18-13) and Catalans Dragons (12-6).
“I’m very happy with where we’re at,” Wane continued. “We’re finding a way to win these games, we are making hard work of some of them which is uncomfortable for me but we’re still finding a way to win and that’s the positive.”
Wigan face last year’s treble winners Leeds Rhinos at the DW Stadium on Friday night with Wane expecting an improved performance from his side:
“I’m very happy with us being four out of four knowing in the back of my mind that the improvement in us is huge.”
