Wakefield Wildcats forward Tinirau Arona has been given a two-match ban for a dangerous tackle on St Helens’ Adam Swift.
Swift was stretchered from the field after the incident which occurred in the early stages of Saints’ 44-4 victory over the Wildcats last Friday.
The Saints winger faces up to two months out with an ankle injury as a result of the contact.
The RFL’s match review panel charged Arona with a Grade ‘B’ offence, for which a two game ban is the maximum punishment. The 26 year-old was also handed a £300 fine.
Arona will miss the Wildcats’ upcoming fixtures against Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants.
