Naughton extends Hull FC deal

Utility-back Curtis Naughton has signed a two-year contract extension with Hull FC.

The deal will keep the 21 year-old at the KC Stadium until the end of the 2018 season.

Naughton scored an impressive 10 tries in 14 appearances for the Airlie Birds last season, and scored in his first appearance of 2016 in last Friday’s victory over Wakefield.

The former Bradford Bull joined Hull from NRL side Sydney Roosters before the start of last season. He also made seven appearances for Doncaster in the Championship in 2015.

Hull FC head coach Lee Radford told the club’s website: “I’m really pleased. I think he has a great long-term future at the club.

“There was interest in him from elsewhere but the fact he wanted to stay is a credit to the group and a credit to Hull FC.

“We want to find him a starting spot and fulfil his potential. He has a good strike rate and can cover the outside backs, either at full-back or on the wing.”

Naughton added: “I had a good end to last season and was coming to the end of my contract so I’m really happy to be staying at the club.

“I love been here so when Lee and Motu [Tony] said they wanted me to stay for at least the next few years I was delighted.

“My main focus now is cementing a place in the side and playing first-grade regularly.”
